Rubio said the talks were linked to Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and opportunities to expand ties between the two countries. He added that he had been impressed by the volume of tourism to Uzbekistan.
The US Secretary of State also noted that direct flights from some other American cities were already operating.
No timeline for launching the proposed Miami route or details about a potential operating airline have been announced.
