Uzbekistan, Grenada establish diplomatic relations
On October 11, 2019, the signing ceremony of the Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Grenada was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow, the MFA press service said.
On behalf of the governments of the two countries, the document was inked by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov and Ambassador of Grenada - Oleg Firer.
The document notes that the Republic of Uzbekistan and Grenada, wishing to develop and strengthen mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation, guided by the principles and objectives of the UN Charter and international law, decided to establish diplomatic relations in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (April 18 1961), the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (April 24, 1963) and the principles stated in the UN Charter.
During the conversation, the ambassadors of the two countries substantively discussed the prospects for constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Grenada in areas of mutual interest, including within the framework of international organizations.
