East Telecom constructing Central Asia's most advanced Data Center in Uzbekistan with Korea Telecom

In March 2023, the construction of the East Telecom Data Center started in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. The center will be constructed as a 4-floors special building that can accommodate more than 300 equipment racks with advanced technology in a 6,000 square meters area. The construction will take 14 months and will launch its service in April of 2024.

East Telecom, a subsidiary of Korea Telecom Corporation, was established back in 2003 as a telecom company. Over the years, ET has expanded and opened branch offices in all regions and has become one of the leading telecommunication companies in Uzbekistan. In 2020, the company started developing new services such as DC, e-Commerce, SMS Gateway, etc., expanding its business portfolio and making the first steps in turning into a Digital Transformation (DX) company. The company has operated middle-sized data in Tashkent and provided colocation service and IT services.

East Telecom has developed the DC project for two years in Uzbekistan. In that period, the company implemented the pilot DC project, surveyed the various customer's requirements, acquired the optimal site in the center of Tashkent city and prepared the IDC design with Korea Telecom.

East Telecom’s Data Centers are equipped with the latest technology, including redundant power and cooling systems, advanced security measures, and 24/7 monitoring and support. With colocation services, customers can rent space in one of East Telecom's Data Centers to host their own servers and equipment. This allows them to benefit from the facility's high-availability infrastructure while maintaining control over their own equipment and data. Colocation customers also have the option to connect to East Telecom's network, which provides low-latency connectivity to major cloud providers as well as other businesses and networks.

East Telecom’s Data Centers are designed to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes, from small businesses to large corporate clients. Their flexible solutions allow customers to scale their IT infrastructure as their needs grow without worrying about the costs and hassles of building and maintaining their own data center. The East Telecom Data Center also provides the development space for its customers and IT startups in Uzbekistan.

In addition to Data Center and Colocation services, East Telecom also offers a range of managed IT services, including network and security services. They are designed to help customers reduce IT costs, improve their operations, and keep their data secure and available.

Confirming the growing demand for IT business in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, East Telecom will launch the most advanced Cloud Service together with the new Data Center and start the 2nd Data Center project and will construct it in Tashkent in the near future.

Currently, East Telecom provides Data Center services to several large clients from the banking, fintech industry, etc. East Telecom is also ready to partner with new startup projects.

IDC is the company's big step toward Telecom + DX Service in the future. Together with KT, ET is planning to establish the IDC Belt in Central Asia by building IDCs in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. DX Promotion Strategy of ET is to Focus on Unsolved Tasks in Central Asia whereas Vision is to become the No. 1 Innovative DX company in Central Asia.
