The match follows a series of international friendlies played by Uzbekistan in recent months.

Uzbekistan beat Iran 3–1 in Fergana on September 24 and defeated Syria 4–1 in Tashkent on October 1. However, the team lost 2–0 to South Korea away from home on October 6.

Russia will be Uzbekistan’s next opponent, with the November 12 fixture set to take place in Tashkent.
