“Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceums established in Uzbekistan

Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures to improve the system of military-patriotic education of young men and training of personnel reserve for the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and the state service”.
According to the document, the following fundamentally new military-academic lyceums “Temurbeklar maktabi” were formed as part of the ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs and Emergency Situations, as well as the State Security Service and the National Guard:
- Fergana “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceum (as part of the Ministry of Defense);
- Kibray “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceum (as part of the State Security Service);
- Nukus “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceum (as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs);
- Tashkent “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceum (as part of the National Guard);
- Shahrisabz “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceum (as part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations).
In addition, the above decree approved the following documents:
- a program of measures (“roadmap”) for creating fundamentally new “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceums and improving the educational process in them;
- regulation on the “Temurbeklar maktabi” military academic lyceum;
- typical organizational structure of the “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceum;
- a list of higher, higher military and specialized educational institutions assigned to the “Temurbeklar maktabi” military-academic lyceums.
Admission and training will begin in the academic year 2020/2021.
