According to the draft, the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute would be moved to the “Tashkent Pharma Park” territory in Tashkent region. On the vacated site, a modern five-star hotel is planned, along with a 1,000-space car park that would be handed over to state ownership.
The proposal has been included in a presidential draft decree on developing the night-time economy. The project was published on the website of the Agency for Strategic Reforms.
The Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute was founded in 1937. Its main academic building is currently located in the city center, near Oybek metro station.
“Tashkent Pharma Park” is an innovative scientific and industrial pharmaceutical cluster operating under the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry. Both the park and the agency are located in Zangiota district, near the infectious diseases hospital.
