According to the National Statistics Committee, a total of 21,490 companies and organizations with foreign investment are operating in Uzbekistan. Of these, 16,732 are foreign-owned enterprises and 4,758 are joint ventures.
The overall number of foreign-invested companies has grown 1.7 times over the past five years. Over the same period, foreign-owned enterprises increased their share of the total from 56.2% to 77.9%.
Russia ranked second with 3,589 companies, followed by Turkey with 2,365. Kazakhstan had 1,345 companies, while South Korea and Afghanistan had 739 and 725, respectively.
Azerbaijan ranked seventh with 503 companies, followed by Tajikistan with 483, the United Arab Emirates with 464 and India with 446.
Together, the 10 countries accounted for 15,412 of the 21,490 foreign-invested companies operating in Uzbekistan.
