Procedure for organizing exams and admission to Presidential schools announced
On the portal of discussion of normative-legal acts, resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On approval of the Regulation on admission to Presidential schools” was placed.
According to the document, the Presidential schools will be organized in 14 units in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent. The Ministry of Public Education (MPE) is considered responsible body for their activities.
General secondary education is provided free of charge at Presidential schools.
The main goal of them is to facilitate the education and learning system of talented children through the use of advanced technologies in the educational process, to support and encourage talented youth, as well as to ensure the upbringing of an intellectually rich and advanced generation.
Gifted and talented children among 4-grade graduates of secondary schools are admitted to the Presidential school on the selection basis.
Admission of pupils is carried out by the Working body jointly with a foreign specialized educational service provider conducting entrance exams. Admission to Presidential schools is implemented based on principles of equality, justice and transparency.
Pupils, who have earned the highest scores at the entrance exams, will be enrolled in compliance with the established quota.
Submitting documents to such schools is carried out only on the basis of the applicant's territorial affiliation. The territoriality of a school candidate should correspond to the territoriality of the Presidential school.
At least in 10 calendar days prior to the date of the receipt of documents, the Working body shall inform the public about the procedure for admission to the Presidential schools, terms of submitting documents and quotas via the mass media disseminated in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The applicant's parents and legal representatives shall submit the following documents to the Admission Committee at the set time in order to participate in the selection:
- application;
- candidate's questionnaire;
- an attesting certificate from the school where the candidate is studying at the time of submitting documents;
- a medical certificate on the applicant's health;
- 2 photos (3x4 size);
- copy of the birth certificate.
Entrance exams are held in the state (Uzbek) and Karakalpak (in the Republic of Karakalpakstan) languages, as well as in English, in accordance with the applicant's choice.
The exams may consist of several stages, depending on the number of applications.
The first stage of entrance examinations is held in the form of a test on mathematics. It takes about 40 minutes to complete the task.
The second stage includes:
- 16 assessment tests on studying the ability to analyze information;
- 20 mathematical assignments (logical questions);
- 40 tests from English.
Entrance exam results will be posted on the official website of the MPE and the Presidential school within 30 days from the date of the exam conducted.
