New Ambassador of Sweden takes office in Uzbekistan
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov today received the newly appointed Ambassador of Sweden with residence in Stockholm, Thomas Danestad.
Accepting his credentials, the Deputy FM congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him successful work in a high and responsible post.
During the conversation, topical issues of the Uzbek-Swedish agenda, as well as interaction within international organizations were discussed.
Proposals were considered to intensify mutually beneficial ties in political, diplomatic, trade-economic, investment and other areas of mutual interest.
The new ambassador is 57 years old. Previously, he held senior diplomatic posts in the Swedish Foreign Ministry and abroad. He speaks English, Russian, German and French.
It should be recalled that in 2016-2021, the post of Ambassador of Sweden to Uzbekistan with residence in the city of Stockholm was occupied by Ingrid Tersman.
