Uzbekneftgaz denies accusation that was spread on Internet
Based on its sources, the Eltuz publication, which operates from abroad, claims that the officials of Uzbekneftgaz JSC receive a certain amount of “financial award” per week from each of the 169 petrol stations belonging to the organization. Also, loan funds received from international financial organizations were ineffectively used for old gas fields.
The information service of Uzbekneftgaz JSC gave an official response to the article.
The company evaluated this message as “defamation, insulting the personality of the head of the organization and thus an attempt to damage the image of the organization”.
“In order to ensure transparency in the society’s activities and prevent corruption, a treasury system was introduced under the leadership of the chairman of the board Mehriddin Abdullayev, a compliance control mechanism was created, a multi-level control system was established over the procurement process, and positive results were achieved to drastically reduce the human factor through digitalization of the society’s activities.
As a result of the cooperation of the Department of Financial and Compliance Control and the specialists of other relevant departments, implementation of comprehensive measures aimed at combating corruption in the system, identifying errors and shortcomings in the direction of compliance control and preventing their future occurrence, in 2021-2022, 52 cases worth a total of 421.6 billion soums were submitted to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
In order to ensure transparency in the procurement process, 6,387 contracts were reviewed in 2022, and in 176 cases, errors and deficiencies worth 174.5 billion soums were identified and their elimination was ensured.
5,043 conflict of interest declarations were received from heads of publicly owned enterprises. On the basis of their information, cases of kinship in 762 cases, relations of the Society’s employees with other enterprises in 33 cases, and close relatives of the Society’s employees working in counterparty and rival enterprises in 12 cases were determined and appropriate measures were taken.
In 191 cases, 126 employees operating in the public system were found to have conflicts of interest by entering into contractual relations worth 77.1 billion soums with enterprises under their leadership and were eliminated.
Among 3,467 employees (18%) of 29,415 employees operating in 24 system enterprises, departments and oil bases, anonymous surveys were conducted electronically, and measures are being taken to eliminate the identified negative situations.
A total of 870 corruption risk lists covering 326 possible divisions were formed based on the tasks and tasks performed in enterprises, and 677 recommendations were made to reduce the level of risks.
The relationship between UNG-Petro LLC under the control of the society and the management of the society is carried out within the framework of the current legal requirements and the interests of the society are strictly protected. At the same time, compliance control is established in UNG-Petro LLC, like all organizations under its management, and every case is promptly responded to within the framework of the law. If the situation described in the application is confirmed, all necessary measures will be taken and the information will be provided to law enforcement agencies.
