The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has issued a statement refuting rumors about the cancelation of Eid al-Adha prayers in mosques.
“These days, fake messages are spreading on social networks claiming that congregational prayers for Eid al-Adha have been canceled in Uzbekistan. False reports state that “the Muslim Board has issued a fatwa in this regard.” These reports are groundless and untrue,” the statement says.
It is reported that the information published during the pandemic - in July 2021 - is being circulated on social networks to cause misunderstanding. This year, the Ulema Council of the Muslim Board did not issue such a fatwa.
If there is a change to the date of celebrations, then it will be announced in official publications. The Muslim Board asked people not to circulate false reports.
