According to the New York Post, during the March 8 celebration, a 46-year-old Uzbek man attacked his wife and stabbed her in the stomach at least twice with a knife.
After the attack, someone called 911. Four police officers arrived and encountered the attacker in the hallway of the house, who was holding a 30-centimeter knife. When police ordered the man to drop the knife, he refused and lunged at them.
As a result, one officer fired his Taser and two officers fired at least four times, striking the suspect.
The man received medical assistance, but died in the hospital due to his injuries.
The woman is currently in hospital.
It is noted that a few hours before the incident, the couple raising four children had a conflict, which the woman told her brother about. According to her brother, the family issues began a month ago; the husband was unemployed and sitting at home due to problems with his sinuses.
