Fines for illegal cutting of trees increased
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Criminal Code and the Code on Administrative Responsibility of Uzbekistan”.
According to the law, Article 79 (Illegal cutting, damage or destruction of trees, shrubs, other forest crops and young trees) of the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been amended accordingly.
Now illegal cutting, damage or destruction of trees, shrubs, other forest crops and young trees entails the imposition of a fine on citizens from 5 to 10 (earlier - from 1/3 to 1) MMW, and on officials – from 10 to 15 (from 1 to 3) MMW.
At the same time, if the same offenses committed repeatedly during the year after application of the administrative penalty, it will entail the imposition of a fine on citizens from 3 to 7 (earlier - from 1 to 3) MMW, and on officials - from 3 to 7 (from 15 to 20) MMW.
In addition, now violation of the rules and instructions of the regulation on restoring forests, improving the state and species of trees, increasing their productivity, and also exploiting wood resources entails imposition of a penalty on officials from 10 to 15 (earlier from 1 to 3) MMW.
