Uzbekistan to adopt law on combating cybercrime

According to the project of the comprehensive program of measures for further reduction and improvement of the activities of government agencies and economic governance bodies, the law “On combating cybercrime” may be adopted.
It envisages the followings:
control system in the field of telecommunications, information and cyber security, ensuring the most important information infrastructure;
systematic review of measures to ensure the protection of public information systems, digital economy and personal data;
creating a unique mechanism for the prevention of active use of modern information and communication technologies and the Internet by destructive forces, ensuring protection of the worldview and consciousness of the population, especially the growing young generation from their negative impact;
introduction of rules that reflect measures against cybercrime and its consequences on administrative, civil and criminal law by systematic work on study and introduction of advanced international experience in information and cyber security;
establishment of the single authorized state body for providing the cyber security and determination of its legal status with the introduction of modern methods of protection of national information space.
By October 1, 2019 the draft law of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be developed and submitted to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.
Responsible executives – General Prosecutor's Office, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of IT and Communications, State Inspectorate for Supervision of Information and Telecommunication, relevant ministries and organizations.
