More than 100 children died in road accidents in Uzbekistan since year beginning
In the last 6 months of 2021, there were 542 child-related accidents and 104 juvenile deaths. This was stated in the Senate statement.
On July 28, before the XVII plenary session of the upper house of Oliy Majlis, a meeting of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security was held.
According to the Senate, the meeting focused on the issue of traffic accidents in the country. In particular, due to the lack of effective control over the safety of passengers on highways in the first six months of 2021, a total of about 3.5 million traffic violations were registered, which is more by 40.8% than in 2020.
As a result, 3,754 traffic accidents occurred, in which 3,170 people were injured and 954 people died.
In the last 6 months of 2021, there were 542 child-related accidents, in which 458 children were injured and 104 minors died. These figures have sparked critical debate.
