On 12 May 2016, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the prominent public and political figure of Germany Lothar de Maizière.
Lothar de Maizière arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in an expert meeting on the theme “25 years of transformation processes in the united Germany and the initial stage of the newest history of Uzbekistan”.

It is organized by Central Asian Regional Office of Konrad Adenauer and the Institute of History of Academy of Sciences.

During the meeting the sides discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, Konrad Adenauer Fund’s participation in the further development of bilateral relations.

Lothar de Maizière shared his observations during his stay in Uzbekistan, noting that he was impressed by the country's ongoing historical changes, extensive work on the protection of monuments of architecture and culture, careful preservation of the rich heritage of the Uzbek people.

Head of the Central Asian Regional Office of Konrad Thomas Kunze attended the meeting.
