Andijan city khokimiyat’s chief specialist caught taking $ 16,000 in bribe

Chief specialist of Economic and Commercial Affairs department of the Andijan City khokimiyat Tokhtamurod Kadyrov was arrested by the operational staff of the Andijan regional department for State Security Service and the regional department of the Prosecutor General’s Office while taking $ 16,000 in bribe from a businessman, the channel “Uzbekistan 24” reports.

Tokhtamurod Kadyrov told the entrepreneur that with the order of Andijan city khokim (mayor) 60 square meters of land area in the territory of “Jahon bozor” (World Market) trade complex will be allocated for businesses soon and he would have the right to allot a land plot to the businessman in exchange for $ 17,500. He was caught when taking the $ 16,000 of the promised money.

Preliminary investigations exposed that the convict has been involved in fraudulent affairs previously too. He took $ 300 from another entrepreneur in exchange for a license to be engaged in wholesale trade.

Prosecutor's office of the region initiated a criminal case under Articles 168, 211 and 214 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are underway.
