Plastic cards not working in Uzbekistan

UzCard seems to be experiencing technical malfunctions again. Millions of plastic cards across the country cannot be used for several hours by now. PayMe and Click are not functioning either.

“Due to some technical problems detected at 6:52 pm Sept. 15, POS, E-POS terminals and ATMs are refusing to connect with the processing center,” the company says.

The UzCard officials apologized for the temporary inconvenience, but could not tell when exactly the problem will be resolved.

Consumers, in the meantime, have no way but to return their purchases at supermarkets, as they have no means to make the payment without their plastic cards.

It should be noted that such malfunctions are periodically monitored in UzCard.

For information, all the national plastic cards in Uzbekistan operate in the UzCard system.
