Coca-Cola may be privatized in Uzbekistan
Negotiations with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, The Coca-Cola Company (USA) and Coca-Cola Beverage (Turkey) were held at the Ministry of Finance, the press service of the Ministry reports.
During the multilateral meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation and opportunities for attracting strategic investors to “Coca-Cola Ichimligi Uzbekiston Ltd”.
At present, 57.1% share of the “Coca-Cola Ichimligi Uzbekiston Ltd.” is owned by “Uzbekoziqovqatholding”, a state-owned holding company, and 42.9% belongs to The Coca-Cola Export Corporation.
The “Coca-Cola Ichimligi Uzbekiston Ltd.” was founded in 1993. Today, the joint venture owns three plants in Uzbekistan, located in Tashkent, Namangan and Urgench.
It is the only company in Uzbekistan that possesses 4 ISO international quality certificates in the food industry.
For information, EBRD invested 894 million euros in 54 projects in Uzbekistan from 1992 to 2010.
