"Uzbekneftegaz", Mitsubishi eye to cooperate

"Uzbekneftegaz" has reached an agreement with the Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation on the creation of a working group for the implementation of joint projects, the press service of the Uzbek company reports.
The meeting of acting Chairman of the Board of "Uzbekneftegaz" Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov and Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi Corporation Kazuo Inada took place on Sept. 25.
"Officials of the JSC “Uzbekneftegaz” acquainted the Japanese partners with the work carried out jointly with Boston Consulting Group, a global management consulting firm, on the elaboration of the “Concept for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry in Uzbekistan by 2030”, which envisages the implementation of investment projects for the deep processing of natural gas among priority areas,” the report says.
It should be reminded that Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov was appointed acting Chairman of the Board of the JSC “Uzbekneftegaz” in mid-September. Prior to that he served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Russia.
Mitsubishi Corporation is Japan's largest trading company and a member of the Mitsubishi keiretsu. It employs over 60,000 people and has seven business segments, including finance, banking, energy, machinery, chemicals and food.
