“Tashkent Challenger” tournament kicked off in the Uzbek capital

Tashkent once again becomes the center of a major sporting event. This time, the capital of Uzbekistan is hosting the “Tashkent Challenger” tournament for the 11th consecutive year on Oct. 8-12, 2018.

The tournament is attended by tennis players from 32 countries.

At the event, 3 players, Denis Istomin, Jurabek Karimov and Humayun Sultanov, are representing Uzbekistan.

According to some sports experts, Mirza Bašić of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan are the favorites to win this year’s tournament.

It should be noted that the total prize money of the “Tashkent Challenger” is $ 75.000. The winner will earn 80 points and $ 10.800.

For information, the “Tashkent Challenger” tournament is held in Uzbekistan since 2008. It is currently part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour and is played on outdoor hard courts.
