Uzbekistan ranked 13th at the third Summer Youth Olympic Games

The third Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, came to its end. In total, Uzbek athletes obtained 16 medals - 5 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze.

Following is the list of awarded Uzbek athletes:

Gold:

Jaykhunbek Nazarov (judo, mixed)

Kumushkhan Fayzullayeva (weightlifting)

Gulbahor Fayziyeva (canoeing and rowing)

Umidjon Jalolov (freestyle wrestling)

Abdumalik Khalakov (boxing)

Silver:

Ulughbek Rashitov (taekwondo)

Mukhammadkadir Toshtemirov (weightlifting)

Islam Abdusalomov (canoeing and rowing)

Shokhida Akhmedova (sports wrestling)

Bronze:

Nilufar Ermagambetova (judo)

Indira Ulmasova (gymnastics, mixed).

Dolera Davronova (weightlifting)

Mukhammadrasul Rakhimov (freestyle wrestling)

Jahongir Rakhmonov (boxing)

Dildora Alikulova (karate)

Timur Merjanov (boxing)

It should be noted that our athletes won 10 medals at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games and ranked 27th by the quality of medals. The national team has improved this time and occupied the 13th place among 206 countries, renewing its record in the Youth Olympic Games.

Uzbekistan has become the 5th in Asia, the 3rd in the CIS and the 1st in Central Asia. The national team of Kazakhstan was ranked 15th with 10 medals (4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze), Kyrgyzstan 69th with three medals (2 silver and a bronze), Afghanistan 90th with 1 bronze medal, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan did not receive any medals.
