Uzbekistan, Russia to sign pension agreement for migrant workers
Uzbekistan and Russia may sign a pension agreement in the future, "Izvestiya" quoted Maxim Topilin, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation as saying.
Maxim Topilin and Sherzod Kudbiyev, the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan, signed an inter-departmental memorandum on social labor partnership. Mr. Topilin said to “Izvestiya” that in the near future, the sides may sign an agreement on the establishment of relations in pension payments.
The citizens of Uzbekistan, who legally work in the Russian Federation and make particular disbursements, will be paid pensions.
The Russian Minister of Labor added that Uzbekistan also proposes to establish on its territory a special center that would grant patents and permits to work in Russia.
Moreover, the inter-departmental memorandum, signed by Mr. Kudbiyev and Mr. Topilin, includes the cooperation in a number of spheres: analyzing and monitoring the labor market; assisting public employment; organized recruitment of foreign labor force; protection of labor rights, etc. Joint consultative agencies will be established and bilateral visits will be organized to exchange experiences in the field of employment.
