Kazakh prosecutor proposed 5-7 years of imprisonment for the convicts of Aktobe incident
On October 30, a specialized inter-district criminal court in Aktobe region, Kazakhstan, held a meeting on the criminal case related to the death of 52 Uzbek citizens burnt to death in a bus on Samara – Shymkent highway.
During the hearing, the prosecutor Osman Orynbasaruly appealed to the court to convict three bus drivers Barat Tanatov, Maksat Pernebekov and Nurjan Kyrgyzbayev under Articles 292 (Violation of fire safety requirements) and 345 (Violation of traffic rules/exploiting vehicle by the operating persons) of the Criminal code of Kazakhstan and sentence them to 5 years’ imprisonment with the deprivation of driving license for 7 years, also, depriving them of the right to work in the field of passenger transportation.
In addition, the state prosecutor requested Nurlybek Tlepbayev, director of the “Aziatranzitservice” LLP, and Bakhadur Perdebaev, mechanic of the enterprise, to be accused under articles 254 (Unfair treatment of responsibilities), 348 (Poor repair of vehicles/allowing them into operation with technical defects) and 384 (Illegal seizure of documents, abduction, destruction, damage or concealment of documents, stamps, seals) of the Criminal code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Osman Orynbasaruly asked the court to issue punishment against them in the form of 7 years’ of imprisonment with deprivation of rights to occupy leading post and work in the field of passenger transportation for 5 years.
