Two doctors were convicted on the death of three sisters in Tashkent
The criminal court of Almazar District, Tashkent city found two doctors guilty of the death of three sisters who died one after another in the capital in November 2017.
On October 25, in Tashkent, Almazar district criminal court chaired by Judge Musa Yusupov, sentenced Gulchehra Odilova, a doctor of the family health center 21, to five years and one month and Nodir Tulyaganov, a doctor at the clinic of Tashkent pediatric medical institute, to six years in prison.
Even though it was proved in the court that the death of the three sisters was caused by the negligence of doctors, the relatives of the deceased complained that no measures had been taken against Khusan Giyasov, the doctor of the infectious diseases hospital. As they claimed, three sisters - 7-year-old Munisa, 6-year-old Mukhlisa and 4-year-old Mohira died one after another as the doctors of the infectious diseases hospital in Uchtepa district did not take necessary actions to save their life.
“In our complaint, we wrote that Khusan Giyasov, the doctor of the intensive care unit of the infectious diseases hospital, did not perform any procedures from 9 p.m. until late night. Doctors rushed only after Mukhlisa, 6, died at 1:30am. We believe that Khusan Giyasov is the main culprit in the death of our girls. We demand that he be brought to a criminal responsibility,” said one of the relatives of the deceased sisters.
