Tashkent launches tender for management of paid parking spaces
The Tashkent city administration has announced an auction to grant management rights for paid street parking across the capital. According to the E-auksion platform, the auction is scheduled for November 25, with applications accepted until 9:00 AM the same day. The initial annual rent price is set at 57.2 billion UZS.
The tender covers a total area of 262,800 square meters spread across multiple districts in Tashkent, including high-traffic areas in the city center. Key locations encompass Amir Temur Square, Mirobod, Uchtepa, and Yashnabad districts, along with streets like Movarounnahr, Istiklol, and Shahrisabz. The awarded management contract will span a three-year period, during which the winning bidder must invest at least $5 million in the first two years to equip parking spaces, install parking meters, and implement traffic control measures.
The contractor must allocate at least one-twelfth of parking revenues to the Tashkent City Road and Transport Infrastructure Development Fund. Furthermore, regular oversight must be maintained to ensure lawful parking use.
This move follows an October decree from Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov, aiming to establish 13,200 paid parking spaces by August 2025, with plans to expand the number to 84,000 spaces. A unified automated paid parking system will launch by year-end, featuring tiered parking rates across five zones, with hourly fees ranging from 5,000 to 12,000 UZS.
