Tashkent State Agrarian University, German IAMO establish a joint department in Tashkent
On October 29, Tashkent State Agrarian University in cooperation with the German Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies named after Leibniz (IAMO) opened a joint department "International agricultural economics" in Tashkent.
The German foundation “Volkswagen” has promised to provide scholarships for 4 years for 3 doctoral and 2 master’s degree students of the department.
Moreover, it has been agreed that 3 professors from Germany will regularly work in the department and guide doctoral candidates.
IAMO is specialized in fundamental and practical researches in the field of regional agriculture. It analyses economic, social and political processes of change in the agricultural and food sector, and in rural areas.
