Vollert announced his arrival on social media, expressing his intention to work for the benefit of both countries. Notably, he made the announcement in Uzbek.
Before his appointment, Vollert headed the division responsible for the South Caucasus, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.
He succeeds Manfred Huterer, who had served as Germany’s ambassador to Uzbekistan since July 2024 and recently completed his diplomatic mission.
