Traffic Safety Department to introduce a “body camera” in March 2019
The traffic department plans to introduce a body camera in March next year, Kun.uz correspondent reports with reference to the representative of the department.
"Technical-economic foundation of the project has already been approved. A tender will be announced soon to select a supplier of equipment. We have planned to start equipping traffic inspectors with body cameras in March next year and this practice will be further expanded. It means, cameras will be provided not only for traffic inspectors, but also for other personnel," said one of the employees of the organization.
According to him, this device will consist of a video camera and a special "stuffing", which produces continuous audio and video recording of the events happening.
The cameras will be designed in such a way that editing, deleting or changing the recorded content in any way will be practically impossible. They will also be connected to a single centralized management system which will guarantee constant control over the daily work of the traffic police inspectors.
“When they come to work, the inspectors will receive a body camera that works automatically. It cannot be turned off until the inspectors return to the office. The camera will also be equipped with a GPS tracker to monitor the movement of employees,” said a representative of the Traffic Department.
