Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Secretary General of the SCO
On November 2, 2018, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Rashid Alimov, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the 6th International Conference of the RATS SCO titled “Combating Terrorism - Cooperation without Borders”.
The parties discussed key issues regarding the activities of the SCO and the practical participation of Uzbekistan in resolving the organization’s pressing challenges.
Mr. Kamilov expressed gratitude to Rashid Alimov, who leaves the post of SCO Secretary General on December 31 after completing the three-year term, for the joint work, noting his service as the head of the organization.
For his part, Rashid Alimov thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the leadership of Uzbekistan for supporting him as Secretary General, emphasizing the relevance and timeliness of important initiatives taken by the Uzbek to further develop multilateral cooperation within the SCO.
