Consul General of Uzbekistan met with governor of Sverdlovsk region

On November 6, 2018, the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg Abdusalom Khatamov met with the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev.

During the meeting, promising areas of interaction between Uzbekistan and this region of Russia were discussed.

It was noted that the beginning of the work of the General Consulate in Yekaterinburg will give a new impetus to the development of relations between Uzbekistan and the Sverdlovsk region.

The governor stressed that the Sverdlovsk region is building ties with Namangan region of Uzbekistan. The parties signed a protocol of intent and are preparing a full-fledged cooperation document.

In the context of the talk on strengthening trade and economic relations, it was noted with satisfaction that, compared with the figures for the first half of 2017, the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and the Sverdlovsk region in 2018 increased by almost 50% and amounted to about $ 106 million.

The meeting also considered prospects for the development of cooperation in other areas, as well as practical aspects of interaction between the Consulate General and the regional administration.
