Dutch companies plan to create innovative agricultural cluster in Uzbekistan
From Nov. 7 to 9, 2018, representatives of well-known Dutch companies “Lely” and “TST-Agro” are participating in the agricultural exhibition Agro Expo Uzbekistan/Agrotech Expo in Tashkent.
On November 7, the delegations held talks at the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, and on November 8 they will leave for Namangan region.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries, the companies plan to enter the Uzbek market and become reliable partners.
Over the years, “Lely” has been successfully introducing its best practices and technologies and creating new jobs in developing countries. On the eve of the visit to Uzbekistan, the company announced plans to create an innovative Center for Dutch technologies in agriculture.
A preliminary project with an estimated cost of 10 million euros implies the creation of an agricultural cluster with full localization of production in Uzbekistan. It envisages the introduction of advanced Dutch technologies for the cultivation of land, the development of animal husbandry, the production of dairy products, recycling and storage of agricultural goods.
It also envisages an educational project, in compliance with which scientists at Wageningen University will teach Uzbek farmers modern Dutch technology.
A good start was also made with another Dutch company - TST-Agro, widely known for its technology of subsurface application of liquid organic fertilizers. Currently, the Embassy of Uzbekistan is negotiating with the company to identify specific segments that will be in demand in the agricultural complex of our country.
