In January-August 2018, Kazakhstan’s total export of oil and crude oil products to Uzbekistan amounted to 152,800 tons, whose value was $ 77 million, the Kazakh monitoring agency Energyprom.kz stated.
Export figures increased by 53.68% in volume and 89.1% in monetary terms compared to the same period last year. In 2017, 99,400 tons of oil and crude oil products worth $40.7 million were exported.
In this regard, Uzbekistan became the major importer of these products among other CIS countries.
It should be noted that in the first nine months of 2018, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan reached to over $ 2 billion, out of which around $ 1 billion accounted for exports from Uzbekistan, and $ 1,1 billion for imports from Kazakhstan.
