Public Education Ministry creates a national team to support English language teaching in schools
The Ministry of Public Education (MPE) of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with members of the new national team on reforming the English language teaching system in public education.
The new establishment was created by the MPE jointly with the British Council in Uzbekistan.
The main objective of the team is to develop recommendations for improving English language teaching in schools in Uzbekistan. Besides, they will be responsible for offering plausible proposals to improve the teacher training programs.
Wendy Arnold, a British English language consultant at schools, was invited to support the new national team in developing English language teaching in the public education system. He participated in a workshop to discuss the primary results of the research. The workshop considered issues of studying the experience of the national team and the preparation of textbooks for primary and secondary schools.
During the meeting with the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov, the participants discussed the results of the work of the national team and their suggestions on further improving the English language teaching system in schools were reviewed.
As noted, children should start learning English as earlier as possible in order to be worthy professionals in their chosen spheres in the future.
The meeting helped identify the future plans of the new national support team for reforming the English language teaching system.
