Theft and deficit in the amount of 27.5 billion soums revealed in public education system in Jan-Nov 2021

In the system of the Ministry of Public Education, during the past 11 months, theft and deficit in the amount of 27.5 billion soums were identified. This was announced at an event organized jointly with the Ministry and the Anti-Corruption Agency, Uznews.uz reports.

It was noted that during the past 11 months of this year, the ministry prevented and eliminated a total of 368.6 billion soums of financial errors and omissions. However, as a result of control measures carried out by the ministry since the beginning of the year, a total of 88 billion soums of financial errors, including 27.5 billion soums of theft and deficit were revealed.

Reportedly, 11.5 billion soums were misappropriated in the city of Andijan (Andijan region), 11 billion soums – in the Boyovut district (Syrdarya region) and 4 billion soums – in Gulistan (Syrdarya region).

159 study materials worth 72.9 billion soums with criminal elements were submitted to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.

“So far, 243 executives have been fired, 3,415 have been disciplined, and 151 cases have been reported to law enforcement agencies,” Iskandar Turayev, head of the MPE control and legal service, said.

In addition, over the past period, the ministry has protected the rights of 264,041 employees, restored the rights of 963. In 188 cases, illegal interference in activities and inspections by other state bodies were prevented.
