Uzbekistan plans to establish Duty Free shops in historical cities of the republic

In Uzbekistan, according to the draft Concept of development of the tourism sector until 2025, it is planned to open Duty Free stores in the ancient cities of the country, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to the news provided by “Norma”.

It has been targeted to develop “shopping tourism”. This project involves the introduction of changes and additions to the Customs code related to the organization of duty-free shops (Duty Free). Such outlets should appear in the historical cities (Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz) and the administrative centers of the regions. It is planned to stimulate the creation of shopping and entertainment complexes and boutiques. Branded clothing, cosmetics and accessories will be sold in them.
