47 prisoners were released in Navoi region

The Republican working group, organized with a view to the integrated development of the regions and the study of public appeals, held visiting receptions in the Navoi region on November 14-15, UzA reports.

The problems of the region and the appeals of citizens were studied with the participation of the Supreme Court officials, the General Prosecutor's Office representatives and the Ministry of Internal Affairs personnel. 

The representatives of the working group visited the penitentiary institutions of the region and, following the consideration of the cases, 47 convicts who sincerely repented of their crimes and embarked on the path of correction, were decided to be released earl. Besides, the submissions regarding the change of conditions of detention for 20 prisoners while serving their sentences were satisfied.

“On the proposal of the working group in criminal courts, 17 criminal cases were examined in relation to 27 persons, 10 criminal cases in relation to 20 people were closed. Also, as a result of the reconciliation of the parties, criminal cases were closed against 7 persons, 5 people were released in the courtroom. In addition, the courts examined the materials of 91 cases related to the parole or substitution of punishment for a softer one,” said Lieutenant Uktam Usmonov, the spokesman for the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Navoi region.
