Uzbek president to visit Canada in 2019

According to the report of the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Uzbekistan's ambassador to the United States Javlon Vakhobov presented credentials to the Governor General of Canada Julie Payette in Washington.

After the ceremony at the residence of Governor General, the Canadian leader stated that bilateral relations of the countries are evolving.

“I am pleased to hear that Canadian company “Sky Power” is investing heavily to develop the energy market in Uzbekistan,” the Governor General said.

Ms. Julie thinks that this is “a beneficial and successful project for both sides”.

At the same time, she stressed that between Canada and Uzbekistan “there are still more things to do.” In particular, she noted the need to increase trade volume between the countries and boost cooperation in the field of education.

At the end of the ceremony, the Ambassador also met with Ellison Le Claire, Director of Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada.

In addition, visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Canada in the first half of 2019 was discussed with the Canadian diplomat.
