Abdulaziz Kamilov met with U.S. Congress members

On November 19, 2018, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with a group of members of the House of Representatives of the US Congress in our country, headed by Trent Kelly and Vicente Gonsaliz, Co-Chairs of the “Caucus on Uzbekistan”.

The delegation included both Republicans and Democrats, members of key committees of the House of Representatives.

The Minister, first of all, congratulated congressmen on their re-election at the recent mid-term elections and welcomed the creation of the “Kokus in Uzbekistan” in the lower house of the US Congress for the first time in the entire history of bilateral relations.

During the conversation, the sides discussed topical issues of the Uzbek-American agenda, which is becoming comprehensive after the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States in May, 2018.

The meeting discussed the prospects for strengthening and expanding ties between the Uzbek and US parliamentarians, legislative consolidation of positive trends in the dynamically developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
