“Uzbekozikovkatholding” to export pepper to Turkey and Arabic countries
Chairman of the “Uzbekozikovkatholding” company Tokhir Jalilov held talks with Turkish and Jordanian entrepreneurs on the supply of fruit and vegetables, including peppers, which are in high demand in the world market, the press service of the company reports.
A Turkish businessman Tojiddin Bayrak stated that currently, the Uzbek partners are supplying about 35,000 tons of peppers (dry and wet) worth $ 49 million for the Turkish consumer market.

“We buy 35,000 tons of peppers in a month or two. We have no problem with this. Next year, I am going to raise this amount up to 200,000 tons. But I am worried about timely deliveries of that much amount of peppers next year. Because, I sell this pepper not only in Turkey, but also in other markets,” Mr. Bayrak said.
The head of “Uzbekozikovkatkholding” Tokhir Jalilov said that this year more than 15,000 hectares of land was allocated for growing pepper and 189,000 tons of peppers were harvested. According to him, it is planned to expand the pepper plantations in 2019. “In turn, we want to ensure the guaranteed purchase of 200,000 tons of pepper,” Tokhir Jalilov added.

Guests from Jordan noted that it is the first time they have visited Uzbekistan and they are already considering partnership with the republic. Jordanian entrepreneurs want to cooperate not only in agricultural sector, but also in other spheres of business.
