Medical staff in Syrdarya take oaths of commitment

Following the farmers in Syrdarya region, who vowed in front of the governor and prosecutors, regional doctors also took oaths, promising to work honestly for the sake of the country’s development.

The “swearing-in ceremony” photos of medical workers in Syrdarya went viral on the social network. Medical personnel were made to recite the oath of “allegiance to the president and not to get into mischief”.

“I am - a physician of the Republic of Uzbekistan, take an oath of loyalty to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev, who is in charge of implementing the wide range of healthcare reforms, improving the quality of healthcare services and rendering appropriate medical care to our people with the use of the most up-to-date medical technologies!”

Previously, following the farmers’ swearing-in ceremony in Syrdarya, an article titled “Should a farmer take an oath?” published in Kun.uz stated: “The spiritual restriction on the person, forcing to do some work by the oath – these are the signs of a totalitarian system. Interestingly, such “countermeasures” are proved to be in vain - the systems, where people have ceased to develop as a result of restrictions and their personal traits and values are degraded, eventually face an extreme crisis”.

We look forward to hearing some comments by officials of the Ministry of Justice, the High Commissioner for Human Rights at Oliy Majlis and other relevant authorities.
