It was discovered that 2 kg and 624 grams of marijuana was found in Kushtepa district of Fergana region. The drug substance was stored at the roof and storehouse of a house located in the village Ukchi.
According to the report of the Uzbek Interior Ministry's press service, a criminal case has been initiated against the convict by law enforcement bodies. The investigative actions are in progress.
In accordance with the Article 273 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, illegal manufacture, purchase and storage of narcotic substances is punished with 5 to 7 years’ imprisonment. In extreme cases, the sentence term may increase up to 10-20 years.
