Uzbekistan to modernize Fergana and Bukhara oil refineries with participation of the Chinese CITIC Construction

Currently, the Concept for the development of the oil and gas industry until 2030 is being developed. It will identify the main directions for reforming the sphere, the press service of “Uzbekneftgaz” said.

Particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of investment projects, including deep processing of natural gas using Methanol-to-Olefins (MTO) technology, modernization of two oil refineries of the republic (oil refineries of Fergana and Bukhara) and construction of the 4th line of the gas pipeline Uzbekistan-China. 

“Uzbekneftegaz” would like to involve the Chinese CITIC Construction in these processes. It has experience in Uzbekistan – the company is known for its participation in the construction of “Kungrad” soda and “Dekhkanabad” potash plants.

The Chinese side expressed interest in investing on projects and participating in them on parity conditions. They also offered to consider the possibility of co-production of base oils using the technology Fischer–Tropsch.
