Uzbek citizen struck and killed by subway train in Moscow
On Tuesday, a 25-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan died under the wheels of a train at the “Yugo-Zapadnaya” metro station in Moscow, the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow subway said.
A man fell on the railway track. The driver, noticing it, pressed the emergency brake pad, but it was late. The train hit the man.
Law enforcement officers immediately called an ambulance, but the man died on the spot due to severe injuries sustained.
For the next hour, the stations “Prospect Vernadskogo”, “Rumyantsevo”, “Salaryevo” and “Yugo-Zapadnaya” were closed for movement and it was not until 17:35 that they were opened again.
According to the driver, the man knew what he was up to.
Police are inspecting the case. They are interviewing eyewitnesses and checking the CCTV cameras.
