President Mirziyoyev to visit Moscow for CIS Summit
On October 7–8, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Moscow, Russia, to participate in the CIS Heads of State Council meeting.
This year, Russia holds the rotating presidency of the CIS, and the summit will mark the official transition of the chairmanship to Tajikistan. The event will serve as a key platform for discussions on regional cooperation and integration within the CIS framework.
According to the CIS Executive Committee, the October 8 summit will address various topics, including cooperation within the Commonwealth and a joint appeal from CIS member states to the international community. Additionally, the leaders will discuss the activities of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly aimed at strengthening integrative cooperation, as well as other pressing issues on the agenda.
The heads of state are expected to sign decisions designating cultural capitals within the CIS for the next three years. They will also introduce amendments to several agreements concerning legal cooperation and regional security.
