Uzbek Foreign Minister meets with Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S.
On November 27, 2018, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in Switzerland in connection with his participation in the International Conference on Afghanistan, met in Geneva with Alice Wells, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asia Affairs, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides discussed the practical aspects of the development of Uzbek-American cooperation in the light of implementing the agreements reached during the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States in May 2018. Some issues of international and regional policy were also considered during the meeting.
The parties also exchanged views on the agenda of the opening International Conference on Afghanistan and the prospects for the start of inter-Afghan peace process.
