Uzbek SSS officers detained two Afghan drug traffickers

 Employees of the State Security Service (SSS) detained two Afghan drug couriers with a load of heroin, Kun.uz correspondent reports with reference to the TV channel “Uzbekistan-24”. 
 
Citizens of Afghanistan – Zulaykho, 40, and her brother Muhammad Akrom Dekhkonzade, 22, have been kept under surveillance while crossing the bridge “Hayraton”. First, they traveled by car from Termez to Samarkand. They spent the night in a hotel and arrived in Jizzakh the next day. There, they were checked by the officers of the SSS. During the inspection of their room and personal items, more than 1.5 kg of heroin was found hidden in travel bags.
 
In addition, during interrogations it was identified that Zulaykho Dekhkonzade had swallowed some part of the heroin for secretive purposes. She was taken to Jizzakh branch of the Republican scientific-practical center for emergency medical aid. In the course of a medical procedure, 111.42 grams of heroin in 27 capsules were extracted from her abdominal cavity. Thus, over 1.6 kilograms of narcotic substance was seized from the lawbreakers as material evidence. 
 
A criminal case was initiated against the criminals under articles 273 (illegal manufacture, acquisition, possession and other actions with narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, as well as their sale) and 246 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. Relevant investigative measures are being taken with regard to the offenders.
