Uzbekistan, Belarus to cooperate in the field of nuclear energy 

On November 28-30 of this year, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Director General of the Agency “Uzatom” Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov paid a visit to the Republic of Belarus in order to get acquainted with the Belarusian experience in the field of nuclear energy, the press service of the “Uzatom” Agency reported.  
 
On November 29, within the framework of the visit at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, the Uzbek delegation met with Deputy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk. The sides discussed a number of issues related to the Belarusian experience in building a nuclear power plant. 


 
The Belarusian side introduced the representatives of the “Uzatom” Agency and contractual organization “Enter Engineering Pte Ltd.” with accumulated experience on the construction of station, scientific support of the national nuclear energy program and participation in the construction of organizations within the system of the Ministry. 
 
In the course of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the peaceful usage of atomic energy was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus and the Agency for the Development of Nuclear Energy under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 
 
During the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan negotiated with the leadership of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Belnipienergoprom”. An experience in the preparation of grounding for investment in the construction of the Belarusian NPP, evaluation of competitive sites for the construction of a nuclear power plant and selection of a primary areas, as well as materials for assessing the environmental impact of NPPs were studied. 
 
Additionally, a visit to the construction site of a nuclear power plant and meeting with the leadership of the state-owned enterprise “Belarusian NPP” had been arranged.
