Shavkat Mirziyoyev attends the informal CIS Summit
On December 6, 2018, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the Council of Heads of the CIS member states in St. Petersburg, the presidential press service reports.
The head of our state, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was met by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
At the meeting, attention was paid to further development of trade and economic cooperation, increasing mutual transactions, effective use of the transport and communication potential of the Commonwealth states, as well as strengthening security, preventing and countering new challenges and threats in the region.
The need for a consistent continuation of humanitarian and educational cooperation was also noted.
It should be noted that the Republic of Uzbekistan next year will be the co-chair in the Commonwealth, and in 2020 will host the summit of the CIS heads of state.
As part of participation in the informal CIS summit, the President of Uzbekistan held bilateral talks with the heads of several states, during which they discussed the main results of a fruitful partnership in 2018 and promising areas of cooperation for the coming period.
