Shavkat Mirziyoyev heavily criticized activities of the media 

On December 7, a ceremonial meeting devoted to the 26th anniversary of the adoption of Uzbekistan’s Constitution was held at the Palace of International Forums “Uzbekistan”. The President Shavkat Mirziyayev delivered a lecture at the meeting. 

The president stressed that citizens should feel a sense of belonging to the reforms. Only then set goals might be achievable, committed assignments will be completed. 

“In this process, the role of strong and influential public oversight is immeasurable. For this purpose, we have decided to launch the portal “Public opinion” next year,” the president said.

“We all understand that mass media play an important role in the implementation of public control. In the process of reform, the media should become a real defender of the people’s interests. To make it happen, they are required bravery, professionalism, impartiality and profound analytical thinking skills,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev added.
